C-Zero given Environmental Leadership Award

Linford C-Zero's pioneering commitment to low-carbon sustainable housing development has been recognised with the award for "Environmental Leadership 2011" by the Institute of Directors in the West Midlands.

Birmingham based C-Zero was established 18 months ago by Simon Linford and Robert Pearson to push forward the boundaries of sustainable housing development.  The company is about to hand over the first of 114 low-carbon affordable homes which are being built in Diss, Norfolk.

C-Zero is championing the Coalition Government's localism agenda, showing that people will support sustainable development for the benefit of local people.  While most housebuilders seem to be trying to avoid regulation to improve the energy performance of houses, C-Zero is showing that with fresh thinking and careful design, cost effective low-carbon housing is a reality not an aspiration.
